Why sometimes we don't remember our dreams and 9 tips to finally help us remember!

in #dreams6 years ago (edited)

Excerpt: There can be many reasons why you do not remember your dreams when you wake up. But first I need to make it clear - every night we dream, because the consciousness is not bound to the physical body and it does go out. Although we do not always wake up with the memories of our journeys in the dream world and beyond, there is what to do about that. Guidance below.

When our consciousness emerges from the physical world it arrives at a world that is close to earth, the one that is near our 3D physicality, which is not perceived by the average man's senses. Most of the experiences in this world are able to be comprehended by the mind and therefore we are also able to remember them upon awakening. However, when our mind wanders into more distant worlds, it can no longer analyze what is there, and consequently remembers almost nothing. It's like if I ask you to explain to a blind person the feeling that goes through you when you see the sunrise. A blind person who has never seen the sun rises does not have the tools to understand (= "mind") the feeling you are trying to convey. In the same way, in the more distant dimensions we must use other perceiving tools, such as intuition, emotion, inner voice, to find our way. This type of distant dreams is responsible for the good feelings we have sometimes in the morning without being able to remember exactly what happened.

Therefore, there are times when the mind does not remember dreams because consciousness is farther away and involved in deep psychic activities. You have to allow this and understand that the dreams' remembrance will return. At the same time, try to give yourself the appropriate suggestions to indeed "remember" also the journeys in the distant dimensions. This will happen with training.

Here are some practical tips to help you to remember your dreams upon awakening. As in most things in life it requires perseverance. The reward worth it:

  1. While awake, stay as long as you can in the present moment, do not fantasize about the future or sink into memories of the past.
  2. During your day, state your intention to connect with your broader self. Do it in a relaxed mental mode; do not struggle with the idea.
  3. Just before you fall asleep, say out loud - "I will remember my dreams when I will wake up" or "I will wake up after every dream and remember it."
  4. Treat your physical needs before bedtime – toilet – and do not eat too much.
  5. It is recommended to avoid electromagnetic energy utilities working in the room during your sleep and one hour prior to that (electric sheet, stereo system, computer, phones, etc.).
  6. Warm the bed but not too much. During sleep the body's temperature decreases (the farther you go the cooler the body gets). If the body is cold, it will "call" the consciousness to come back and your dreams will be disturbed.
  7. Avoid arousing strong emotions before bedtime (crying, sadness). Emotions create an energetic mask that blocks the movement of consciousness.
  8. Before bedtime, avoid all thoughts, focus your attention on the sensations - the touch of the sheet, the sounds in the room, your body's position - and then fall asleep.
  9. And the most prominent tip - if you want to remember your dream have a dreams log! Write your dreams every morning, no matter how short and vague they are. This practice will train your mind that dreams are important to you and worth remembering.

Dreams are as natural as our daily routine. It is almost inconceivable for me to imagine not remembering my nocturnal journeys. At first, it was not so obvious but with practice I had more and more recollections. Some of my major decisions in life were made after I had consulted with my dreaming Self.

But, one needs to act! It's not enough to read articles about dreams or try for a few nights. Persistent is the key.

Happy travels.

Happy to find you here on Steemit, David! So many secrets held within dreams. Wonderful to know you are teaching and sharing on this important aspect of self mastery. Thank you.

🙏 glad to serve

Interesting. I heard that our dreams lasts for a few seconds/minutes even thought we feel like out dream last for a lot of time and contains a lot of information. Is that true?

nope :-)
most Dreams last much longer. Science does not know to measure the dream activities that take place beyond the near-mental venues, so it says we don't dream for long. The truth is that you dream most of the night. Now, remember, "dreaming" means that your consciousness is aware elsewhere, its focus is away from this "regular" reality. By the way, people who suffer from damnation need to sleep a lot. you know why? because their consciousness is very active on other levels, so they need to go "there" frequently.
The more you remember your dreams the better understanding you will have about that part of our life.
And yes, the time frame may be different. I once had a 12 hours dream but when i woke up only 15 mins passed.

I think putting a notebook and a pen next to the bed is a great idea too, so you can write your dream right after you woke up. When I'm waking up I can remember a part of my dream but after a couple of minutes I forget.
Btw, there's some people who can control their dreams in amazing way, maybe you should write about that too 😊

Right. you are referring to Lucid dreams and projections of consciosuness.
It's on the agenda. the que of articles is quite long :-)
thanks👍

I find meditation help a lot for me! :D

Same here. 👍

I can definitely try this but number 5 is a little difficult.
I often feel asleep while I'm using my phone.
But it would be really great if I can remember my dreams.
There are times I woke up feeling great and wanting to remember what I dreamed of but couldn't. This may help

...but really, at first put your phone aside 1h before going to bed. Your mind needs not be surrounded with the electromagnetic energies. In time, that will not be a problem,

I definitely will have to try that..
How good it will be if I can remember my dreams.
I am a very creative dreamer ;)

Yes, you are!👍

i will still not remember
i cant even remember dream within dream

A dream within a dream is an advanced stage. Begin with the basic.
...and if you keep telling yourself "I will not remember", then your mind hears it and you will not. simple.

so i will try next time keeping in mind all these tips..

Nice pic

@nomad-magus

I am so many happy that i find you on Steemit. I learned a lot in your post. Thanks for sharing.

Go ahead. I will always with you @nomad-magus

Was lovely to read my friend!
Gonna take to bed with me 😁

Can you please refer to what happen to your dreams when you smoke weed before going to sleep?

I cannot testify about that as I don't have any personal experience. I can only assume that the effect is individual as each brain responds differently to external substances (natural or artificial).
