30 Days Drawing Challenge: Day 24 - Design a Character Contest: Singing Turtle
This contest has really proven to be more difficult than it actually looks like. The idea is to design a character based on a random shape.
I tried with the 3 options given in the contest. After a couple of hours of trying to fit characters in the shape I was starting to get frustrated ha ha. It was almost bed time and I haven't got any decent character designed.
At the end I played with the idea of making some sort of dinosour face at the top of the shape and then the bottom part would be kind of like it's flaps or legs. I was thinking of doing like the loch ness monster, but the rest of the body wasn't fitting properly. Then as I played more with the idea, I could start to see a turtle in the drawing. The turtle body fit better in the shape. With an addition of some headphones I think the overall character is quite decent. For this case I like the rough lines and black and white contrast of the character, gives it more of a cartoonish look.
I liked a lot this challenge because it forced my creativity :D! What do you think? is it any good?
