Art Explosion Contest: Theme REBELLION (original drawing)
The current Art Exposion contest is about rebellion.
Usually I like to draw dark and ominous pictures (e.g. this here), but this time it's a... cat.
Yep, you heard it right: it is a cute cat this time.
(Must be the heat -.-)
What happened?
The aforementioned rebel cat is protesting against bad food that is not appropriate.
The process
Step 1
First I make a sketch (the blue lines), upon which I then draw the "clean" lines (black)
Step 2
Flat colors added
(I like this step the most, I guess it reminds me of all the simple cartoons and animes Ive watched back then :D )

I realised that drawing cats is pretty funny. Then I thought: well, how about drawing 15 little pictures of a jumping cat? The result is below: my first animation.
Cute kitty and also very nice result for your first animation. But I really want to see it jump now ^^.
it was such a pain to draw all the little frames and there were only 15...
therefore: nah, the animation will stay in this stage for a loooong while now :D

i like cats too, but Ive never really drawn them.

That's amazing- I really enjoyed the process pictures- especially the move between the sketch to the 'clean lines'. Congratulations on your first animation! Love the way you've got so much sense of movement into it's long fur!

to be honest: I like the lines too. personally I prefer to draw black and white pictueres with a pencil or a marker like copic, therefore the sketch and the "clean lines" ( i dont even know how it is called in english :D ) are the funniest steps for me ^^

it was quite challenging, although the frames are rather rough sketches, and it is a 2 second animation D,:}

the animation was quite a fun aaand such a pain in the same time: drawing all the frames one after another is something that taught me respect for the job of professional animators

This pretty much describes most cats everywhere, rebel or not. Always seemingly unhappy with their circumstances unless they are provided full and undivided attention. Even then, something like this can happen. Well done, and the animation's cool, too. :)
