埃及以两件事而闻名：金字塔和木乃伊。这是好莱坞推动的配对。木乃伊盒实际上是一个人形的木制棺材。可能有几个棺材在另一个之内。盖子是可拆卸的。木乃伊的棺材通常被绘制得很漂亮以代表死者。如这图的情况中，一个双臂交叉的法老抱着弯曲杖和连枷。两者都是古埃及使用的符号。这个曲杖实际上是代表统治者的牧羊人的曲杖，因此代表了王权，连枷是土地肥沃的象征。
这是木乃伊棺材的美丽的一面。实际的木乃伊并不是悦目的景象。

My Sketch: A Mummy Case

Egypt is famous for 2 things: the pyramids and the mummies. This is a matching pair promoted by Hollywood. The mummy case is actually a wooden coffin in human shape. There may be several cases one inside another. The lid is removable. The mummy casings are often painted beautifully to represent the dead person. In this case, a pharaoh with crossed arms holding the crook and flail. Both are symbols used in ancient Egypt. The crook is actually a shepherd's crook representing rulership and therefore kingship, and the flail is a symbol for the fertility of the land.
This is the beautiful side of mummification. The actual mummy is not a pretty sight.
