Toriyama and the bad Dragonball super animation rants

Those of you who are a little bit upset at the quality of super whether it be the animation or pacing or whatever, you are not alone. I know some people in our community which never ceases to amaze me in some cases. I’ve actually gone on record to blame Toriyama for this. Well if you actually did your homework on how the animation process works instead of talking out of your horses( you know what I mean) and blaming Toriyama for everything.

I am not kissing Toriyama’s ass. I am the first one when I think his stories are screwed or have alot of plotholes , but I am sick and tired of people in this comunnity who are always complaining about the irrelevant issues . You must understand that Toriyama is NOT an animator. He is a manga artist and a storyteller. Toriyama does not animate whatsoever. He does not animate a single frame. If you ask me again, Toriyama is not the perfect writer or the perfect storyteller, but you shouldn’t put blame on Toriyama . In the 30th anniversary book for dragonball it was revealed that toriyama did indeed complain to Toei( company that does the animation) about the quality of super. And for those who don’t understand how super actually works: Toriyama gives Toei a manuscript which contains key points about what the story is about. Toei has to fill in the rest and from there out they have to do everything. Alot of people don’t realise that making a single frame of 2 seconds takes hours upons hours to make for a single person to finish. Taking into account that super episodes come out every week. Not only is the pressure high, but does it cost an immense amount of money. Toei hires hundreds of people just to finish 1 episode. Toei has to pay every animator by the hour and I can tell you that is not cheap in the slightest. That is why Toei re-uses frames and parts of past episodes. TAlso, they save money fort he best episodes, for example the glorious Jiren vs Goku battle.

So for you dragonball fans out there, please be patient and show your love and respect for the animators and Toriyama. Think before you speak and enjoy this magnificent anime which we grew up with.
