RE: How much did you spend on SteemMonsters so far?

in #dpoll5 years ago

You can't compare a two month old, blockchain based game made by a small team to a four year old game from a company that has over 7 billion usd yearly revenue, 18 billion in assets and 9k employes?

That's like expecting a baby to run quarter miles faster than a professional athlete.

Also, how do you even know it's not a good investment if you haven't invested anything yourself? As noted in the post, I'm soon about to break even on the amount of STEEM I spent on cards and start earning quite a lot of STEEM per month.

Resources aren’t an excuse for execution. To make cards first and then build around the cards was a poor game design. Mind you, I’ve seen steem monsters growth from the beginning. You were expected to buy cards and packs with no real understanding of what the card was or what it would do. Literally the cards were blank pictures of monsters with no indication as to how the card would play. That’s not an investment worth making cause you were just buying pics of cards with the faith they knew what they were doing.

You can’t use resources of money as an excuse because MTG didn’t have that financial support and still had a plan and made the most successful card game in history.

Mind you I admire and respect the initiative taken by the community to build steem monsters but blank cards were not a good enough faith investment for me.
