Did you get any physical punishments from your parents on your childhood?

In my country physical punishment is very common to treat miss-deeds of children. Nobody seen it as a child abuse. May be the social structure is bit different here that's why. But now a days it is changing, but you will still find many parents who believe in physical punishments. As here, no certain specific rules or institution works to protect child at their home so the rate is high. But as I said we as a parents are not supporting this anymore.

But, in our generation it was a common culture and the children also used to it. As the social structure here is very strong and family bonding is also very strong so physical punishment did not made us get away from our parents or we does not love them less.

I can't remember my parents punished me physically. May be I was too good to hide my secrets or as I was always good in study. But I have seen my siblings get punishments for their miss-deeds few times.

I am interested to what is your stance in this? Did you get any physical punishments from your parents or not?
