We already know that there will be gold only tournaments. We must also assume that a large part of the announced prize money will be spent at the gold only tournaments. There are 100 USD per day and 1000 USD per week announced as prize money. So 1700 USD will be distributed weekly as prize money. Since it will take a while until the tournaments start, the gold foil cards currently have no use. The market clearly shows that currently many are losing patience or unable to abstract.
