Should, developers and investors focus on the social media aspect of Steem platform rather than focusing on profit earning only?
Greetings Steemians!
After HF21 the numbers of posts have decreased on Steem platform and it also distracted many users from here. Many accounts on Steem are bots or either inactive. So, the number of active users is not so great on this platform. It is not comparable with Facebook or other social media platform in respect to numbers of users. Investors want profit for their investment but too much focusing on profit earning has cost this platform a lot.
Should, developers and investors focus on the social media aspect of Steem platform rather than focusing on profit earning only?
- Profit earning is everything for investors. They should focus on this aspect only.
- Profit earning is necessary but too much focus on this aspect is harming Steem.
- There must be balance between both the things.
- If they focus on developing Steem as social media platform and blockchain, profit will come automatically.
- Too much attention on profit is ruining this platform.
- Something more?

Something more: The users should also focus on the social media aspect. How can anyone expect investors to focus mainly on the social media aspect, if the users are also focusing on the profit? But I don't blame them. This is the result of a mistake in the marketing of Steemit. Steemit is advertised with the money earning opportunity, so it is no wonder that the users are focusing on the profit. Bad marketing attract (mostly) bad users, but they also leave over time. Let's be honest, the user retention of the Steem blockchain is very bad. There are more than 1.3 million Steem accounts, but nowadays less than 40 000 Steem accounts are active. And many of these are bots.
