RE: To fix or not to fix..

in #dogs7 years ago

Beautiful dog!

Our female Italian Greyhound had three litters. The first two were purebred, and planned. Then she had an "accident" with our Chihuahua, and we figured she'd had enough, so we had her fixed after the mixed pups were born.

People couldn't get enough of the mixed-breed puppies. We gave one to my mother and someone offered $2000 for her! We kind of regretted having her fixed ever since.

She's 18 years old now, though, so clearly fixing her late didn't have any negative health impacts. In fact, she had a vision problem that always seemed to clear up when she was pregnant.

I don't think fixing a female dog would do much for her energy. Puppies are going to be hyperactive no matter what you do.

A greyhound and chihuahua mix? How is that even possible lol..

Thanks for your information...

Italian Greyhound. She's 12 lbs, about a foot tall.

The Chihuahua is 4 lbs and 6 inches tall. He jumped up on a pile of pillows!

As they said in Jurassic Park, "Life finds a way!"
