hmmm I believe this is because the value of your upvote depends both on the current average selling price of Steem and Steem Dollars, but also voting power decreases each time you upvote to prevent abuse of voting. The voting power increases back to normal after a while, I believe a few hours or days depending on how much of your voting power you used.

Interesting, thanks for your reply. Seems strange because I don’t watch/read all THAT much on Steemit yet, both b/c of time constraint & not everyone I watch/read is on Steemit. I’m going to start paying more attention to when that happens. (It’s annoying though & makes me wish there were a way to take my vote back! Haha)
