After a couple of hours strolling around the beautiful lake at Mljet, we decided to take a short ferry ride across the lake bringing us to a small island called St. Mary. There are regularly scheduled boats that run every day to give easy and convenient access to it.

This tiny island of St. Mary on Veliko Jezero lake is originally the site of an ancient Benedictine monastery dating back from the 12th century. The island can be circumnavigated quite quickly as there are hiking and cycling paths around the perimeter of the entire island. A great way to enjoy those rich forests, along the shores of the salted lakes, cliffs and rocky shores leading to the sea! Take your swimming gear and go for a relaxing dip with some beautiful sea-water fish, lol.

There is also a lovely restaurant which seemed very popular and caters for most of your culinary needs. The grilled fish I sampled was unbelievably fresh and tasty. The table is set outside just by the shore with a stunning view of the lake. What more can you ask for?

We spent a good two hours exploring St. Mary Island after which we took a ferry back to Pristaniste. What a beautiful historic island with such cultural significance! On the boat ride back, the sun was setting, creating a glistening, scenic shimmer across the lake. Definitely not something that I will forget for a very long time to come!

在姆列特岛美丽的咸水湖边漫步了几个小时，我们乘坐了小船穿过湖泊来到了另一个名为圣玛丽的小岛。这里每天都有不同班次的小渡轮方便游客到岛上参观。

坐落在Veliko Jezero 湖边，圣玛丽岛最初是一座古老的本笃会修道院遗址，其历史可以追溯到12世纪。整个岛屿周围都有徒步旅行小道和自行车道，十分便利。由于岛屿很小，环岛游一周其实并不需要很长时间，我很享受这里茂密的深林，美丽的湖泊和通往大海的岩石海岸。大家不要忘记带上你的游泳和潜水装备，在水里与鱼儿们同欢是很不错的体验，呵呵！

这里靠近湖边有一个可爱而且受欢迎的餐厅。我在这里点的烤鱼十分好吃，那鲜甜的味道让人回味无穷！我们坐在湖边的位置欣赏湖泊壮丽的景色，人生还有什么能比这更享受的呢？

我们在圣玛丽岛上玩了两个多小时之后便乘坐渡轮返回 Pristaniste 小镇。坐船的时候正值夕阳西下，丝丝余光洒落在湖面上闪闪发光，迷人的景象让我久久不能忘怀！再见了，圣玛丽岛！
