Second of all,
@jerrybanfield is an active witness of Steem Blockchain. That means he is being rewarded/paid by Steem blockchain in its own currency.
His "long and annoying" post is actually quite extensive and detailed Witness Update with listed dApps around #Steem is what 70% of #BitShares Witnesses never do (even that is actually part of their job/role of an active witness).
Third, and final for this topic,
Promoting content and paying upvote bots for it, is contribution to Steem. Steem does take fee from each and every post, and making posts to have greater Payouts, means Steem gets more tokens back to the blockchain so the funds are not being taken out completely from the blockchain.
I would appreaciate if community of a Steem would consider to take a bit less "passive-aggressive" and personal-based approach towards people/accounts/posts it doesn't like. There is a proper Flag button for following the rules and reporting someone who doesn't.
As far as i'm concerned, man is doing what he is paid for and should be cheered for it.
