Hello everyone, this evening is all about grateful mind and welcoming new baby rabbit into our homestead. But before then I want to divert and talk more about a life of a farmer.

LIFE OF A FARMER : It is very sad but true that so many youth of nowadays have the ability and strength to farm, to plant both tree crops, vegetables, cassava, oil plam, maize, pepper and many other crops that I could not mention here but failed to join the farming community. Meanwhile farming is life as a matter of fact, to me and my household we voted for farming instead of going from one family member to another begging for funds to eat our daily meal. It is recorded practically that whenever you read and do not practicalize what you read or know it will become faded knowledge. But when you practicalize what you have learnt, see, observe, the knowledge will be updated and up to date. That is why I choose Agriculture and is the way of my life.

WHY DID I CHOOSE AGRICULTURE

To start with, since I was so young and tender back in the 19s I told myself I'm going for Agriculture, I guess it is because I was born into Agriculture family, also because I saw my dad not always patronizing the market to purchase anything other than Onions and few foodstuff. But when you say Yam, cocoa, maize, pepper, vegetables, meat to some extent ( I mean rabbit meat, chicken meat, goat meat, snail ),so I grew up interest and I worked toward it even though it wasn't easy choosing farming above other jobs out there. But I followed my destiny and I am proud to be a farmer.
Morealso, I studied Animal production in the higher institution (Federal University of Technology, Minna ,Niger state. Nigeria.) There were many challenges that arose against me even up till today but with God all things are possible with faith here I am.
So, on the last note. We welcome the latest new baby rabbit into the homestead, this took us more than expected days and time because there was an outbreak of skin diseases on the rabbit farm but it has gone, gone for good. The baby rabbit is a cross between A Chinchilla male with A New Zealand white Doe .

FARMER'S CHALLENGES :

(1) Lack of funds.
(2) Lack of governmental support.
(3) Lack of mechanized equipment or tools.
(4) Inadequate rainfall.
(5) Constant outbreak of diseases due to weather/soil.
(6) Bad market prices.
(7) Low Yield.
(8) High cost of Labour.
(9) Manual weeding.
(10) High cost of Agriculture equipment.
