Moving Away from Facebook to Focus on Steem

I joined Facebook in September 2006 when I started my junior year of college.

I remember my roommate asking me if I had a Facebook, resulting in a confused look on my face. "I have a MySpace", I told him.

Every since I opened my account, I spent a lot of time on Facebook. Too much. In fact, soon enough, I found that it was taking over my life.

Then, recently, I found Steem. A whole new decentralized world full of new and exciting possibilities. After my eyes opened to Steem, I found that they were closing to Facebook.

I see enormous value in Steem. Steem actually rewards me for the content I create and publish. Facebook hasn't given me a penny in the 12 years I've been using their site.

The advantages of Steem are endless. Not only do people get rewarded for creating and for curating content, but there is this amazing sense of community and fellowship on the platform.

Multiple apps can be integrated into Steem such as DLive, DTube, DSound, and many others. Not to mention sites such as Busy.org where you can see a different user interface to interact with the Steem blockchain.

The future of Steem involves the invention of SMT's, or smart media tokens. SMT's are a new way for publishers to monetize their online content and community, based on blockchain technology.

Needless to say, I am going to be spending a majority of my time now on Steem, and a considerably less amount of time on Facebook. I might check in every now and then, but other than that, I am focused on Steem and on adding value to the community.

Let me know your thoughts below. Are you a still a Facebook fan, or are you spending most of your time on Steem?

I truly enjoy using @dlive to host my videos and share value with the community.

YaY @kenmelendez nicely put. 😃
I joined FB in 2007 and have also been using it less since I've found steemit. I'm also excited about my new upcoming adventures with Dtube and Dlive as I learn more of whats possible and how I can add some creative content, value and fun to peoples lives. 🤔
It was definitely a pleasure getting to meet you in Las Vegas at the @steemcreators Conference. Looking forward to the next time we get to hang out 😃

Here here @eventspeaker! I feel the same. DLive and DTube are powerful platforms for hosting creative content. Are you attending the @steemcreators event in Toronto? It’s coming up in September.

We definitely are planning to 😎
We are looking at how we can create bigger and better events for every one. 🤩

Awesome! Glad to hear it :)
