La Gazzetta dello Sport", jak co roku, opublikowała zarobki piłkarzy Serie A. Na swoją pensje nie może narzekać Wojciech Szczęsny, który jest drugim najlepiej zarabiającym bramkarzem ligi. Co ciekawe, aż 18 zawodników Napoli zarabia lepiej od Piotra Zielińskiego.

Kwoty wydawane na pensje w Serie A systematycznie rosną i obecnie sięgają kwoty jednego miliarda i 360 milionów euro. Dla porównania: w sezonie 2015-2016 wynosiły one 882 mln.
