My Portfolio #10 Bust of a Peregrine Falcon

This piece is made from a solid block of limewood and mounted on a black granite base.

I used a metal bar to connect the two which gave it a floating effect.

I stained and polished the limewood to give a bronze appearance although it did not obscure the grain , so it still looks like wood up close.

I studied photographs to get the proportions and characteristics correct.

Finding a real Peregrine that would stay still would be difficult as it is the fastest bird in the world.

Many thanks,
