Lasercutter DIY Build - 900mm x 600mm 80W CO2 Laser cutter - Part 1

Started working on the Laser cutter build finally, now that most of the parts have arrived (waiting on 8 more deliveries).

I havnet decided what to call this project/Laser Cutter so if you have any suggestions, leave a comment!

Decided to start with the X-axis.

As we can see here I have mounted the MGN12 linear rail onto 2020 aluminium profile.

I have also quickly made some templates of mounting brackets that need to be laser cut out of steel. I have made them out of acrylic initially to make sure that everything lines up nicely, as its cheap and quick to make, rather than cutting them out of steel first, then finding they are the wrong size.

Here we can see the mirror assembly and the Nema17 stepper motor mount made out of clear acrylic.

Now here is the laser head assembly. This took several attempts to get right as it had to be long enough to align with the other mirror, but short enough that it didn't waste space
