Thank you! Good eye! The white repairs are indeed PEX. Luckily, Lowe's sells the transition unions to go from the gray polybutylene to the PEX... though at a premium! I think each of those unions were $5. Ouch! But more cost effective than tearing everything out and running PEX. That's on the to-do list here eventually, but we wanted to get in the house asap. Thanks again!
Ouch indeed! Yeah, they can "stick it to you" at times for specialty items.
Maybe a 3D printer with the right material... Nylon?... might give us the chance to "roll our own." :D
