"Galactic Zoo Hypothesis" and (Steem Blockchain Analogies)
N = R* x fp x ne x fl x fi x fc x L

N = The number of civilizations in the
Milky Way Galaxy(Cryptocurrency Marketplace) whose electromagnetic emissions are detectable.R = The rate of formation of stars suitable for the development of intelligent life.
fp = The fraction of those stars with planetary systems.
ne = The number of planets, per solar system, with an environment suitable for life.
fl = The fraction of suitable planets on which life actually appears.
fi = The fraction of life bearing planets on which intelligent life emerges.
fc = The fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space.
L = The length of time such civilizations release detectable signals into space.
A couple of days ago, I was reading an article written by @demotruk about how well DLive has done since leaving Steem and becoming DLive.tv. Where he basically shows us with a series of Alexa graphics and screenshots about how DLive is growing rapidly surpassing in traffic and in the popularity rankings all Steem related sites including Steemit.com. You may click here to read the post.
Then, way before this article above. I also read an article of @nathanmars where he claimed that DtubeFamily777 label is dead and in what at the moment that I read his post. It seemed to me like a kinda desperate movement and general call-out across the steemian's community to join efforts with him in what he called the #Seven77 Twitter Movement.
"In what appears as a jointly and collective effort to bring awareness about the existence of our Blockchain to investors, developers and entrepreneurs outside the Steemsphere. And where he tagged up to 777 steemians to join to his campaign".
I suppose, that maybe you've already seen also @socky campaigning to get STEEM & SBD on Binance from long time ago. Or @theycallmedan pushing to achieve the same goals on CoinTiger, Coinbase, StackExchange and in ALL Major Exchanges in general. Well, at least these two among many others that I don't recall right now.
And then, as a research scientist with too much information & data accumulated under his pink sleeves. All of the sudden, I couldn't avoid notice within these promotional efforts a few similarities thinking about certain analogies regarding some on going concepts and debates typical of the field of astrophysics to establish a few metaphorical comparisons. };)
The Fermi Paradox
If we are only a tiny dot in the middle of a gigantic universe of blockchain projects, is it possible that in some of those 'interstellar' corners of the crypto universe there is life but the 'wealthiest' species still refuse to make contact with us?
In fact, there is a large number of our members that are dedicated to sending 'interstellar' signals with the hope of receiving, one day, a response from these wealthy specimens.
The Big Silence
"Maybe the 'aliens' are watching the humans on Steem Earth, in the same way that we observe the animals in the zoo"
Perhaps, with so many new blockchain stars popping out across the cryptouniverse, it shows that any meeting of two civilizations is dangerous for both. Knowing that, civilized extrasteemians will not try to communicate with us.
Is it possible that our recent decline in the Alexa rankings and our inability to attract the opulent whales that we intend to attract now in the crypto intergalactic ocean of blockchains. It has been mainly due the lack of proper promotion & diligent marketing of the founding fathers and early adopters of our small promising planetary project since three years ago?
And now, it is already too late for us to do so in the midst of a fiercer competition against the emergence of other species with in appearance, more mature, robust and better founded projects than ours within the blockchain scene. All of them who also struggles to capture the general attention of all those opulent aliens out there?
So, could we be quarantined from the rest of the crypto galaxy?
It seems likely that those wealthy alien extrasteemians that we are looking for, they may be imposing a ‘galactic quarantine’ on us at the moment because they realize it would be culturally disruptive for us to learn about them. Cognitive evolution on the Steem Blockchain shows random features while also following predictable paths. And yeah, of course all of this is pure conjecture at this point, and depends on just how many civilizations are really out there, which is still unknown.

In the meantime, I think I'm gonna keep my big ass radars combing the crypto galaxy everywhere. ¿Who knows? maybe there are indeed advanced wealthy aliens already wandering on our backyard playing with an outta space network of very sophisticated toys throughout the entire space of our near orbit to catch you and finally abduct you.
At least, I know a few of those rich aliens who've been launching their ancestral runes to predict the future. And seems like some of them are getting closer and closer to their goals to achieve a closer contact of the third kind with the 'humanity' within the blockchain dimensions.
«-Meeting The Unknown-»
Yep. all this can be pure speculative babbling and gross conjectures of what I've been seeing so far. Maybe my mood is not in the best shape after have passed by through a new power outage of 12hrs here in where I am now. So, I think I'm going to leave this post until here.
After all, the real intention of publishing it has been only to try to promote an interesting debate and healthy discussion on the subject. And if we are lucky enough to get a few coherent comments and thoughtful opinions in the comment box of this article. Maybe, perhaps, I could throw a few equally thought provoking responses to keep alive the discussion. :)

I don't think that success for Steem is going to come through attracting whales, it will eventually be through attracting normies. That is likely more marketing and hype, something that other projects do better but, are they blowing their load too soon?
I think that this kind of blockchain needs to attract more Aspies and less normies, the nrmies just want cat pictures and payouts, massification can only happen when we have the reliable means for expanding the infrasctructure.
I think we are all missing the point, not whales nor pauper especies.
What we need to attract is the ones in the middle, the ones that dont care to but 10 - 100 - 1000 $ of steem to see how they do.
Also we need to attract people who likes reading and writting if we expect the site to have again some sort of quality standard and that good posts are not washed away in the river of shitposting to mine a few cents .
I mean we need humans, not people
The middle class is building but it takes time and it will get to a point where it requires consumers of the product, they will be normal people. I have been pushing for the middle class development for 2 years almost and it is just starting to get traction now.
The quality was never great here. This will be sorted out through interface and application, not the users as for the most part on the internet, users area not very good content providers in terms of expertise of delivering quality and engaging information.
Expertise wise:
Well apart from the Pop culture part I think that wikipedia has around 20 years demonstrating that at least the english version has engagement and delivers quality, see the articles about astronomy for example.
But i don't know i think the content driven times are gone.
Steemit pushed for too long to have other interfaces created and apart from utipian (which now seems to have abandoned it, and busy there was not much done in that area)
See for example WLS they worked a clean fluid interface (they just lack infrastructure to deliver it consistently) but is way better in user interface.
I've seen a platform in EOS that has impressive looks
steempeak shown that it was possible to do things right interface wise.
Once we get the interface issue sorted out it will be easier to attract the middle class.
However i don't think anyone cares for blogging anymore the competition concentrated on that so it is diluted as there is more offer and the rewards were oversold for too long with those Jerry ads about the picture of the cat that got him 2000$
Acydio told me the other day to move with the times lol... I guess he is right lets do drugs and see monsters, that is all the rage now.
I think if content is ever going to matter it needs to be segmented and with real incentives to attrack good creators i think there should be 2 types of accounts the celebrities and the consumers... Here right now everyone is angry because they were promised 400$ a day for posting cats pictures... That should be allowed and encouraged, that is what consumers do... But a celebrity / expert blog should not be hidden in a sea of cats and should be actually rewarded in consecuence....
Tell a diamond youtuber to come here and post videos for 6$ over 7 days... Why do you think they all are in patreon ?
We defo need to move with the times, the proof of concept is over, stay for the community while there is some left.
Well yeah, that's prolly true. But just in case... Don't forget to buy and insert your AD here!!
So it seems!! There is a big possibility that a new breed and generation of smarter aliens with an intelligent Space-based blockchain and more powerful weapons for the 'Social Space', can render us as a simple primal idea & primitive relic of the past. Figuratively speaking, of course. };)
Well, I have yet to know of a way to "mine" crypto than through posting on this site.
I suppose, to follow the analogy, it gives this place the right conditions for the specie that is me.
You are not alone on this conundrum my friend. For pauper species like you and me, "mine" crypto on this current unknown galaxy can only happen squeezing & exploiting more the solid gold veins from the quarries of our big fat brains.
@por500bolos
You have not understood anything... People dont want to read your long boring posts... They want the TL|DR version.
This guy got it right... meme and gifs... (I am not saying i am against them i am using it to compare engagement and results)
Try posting 1 youtube video and a linkbait title... you will see how effective minery becomes.
You wont believe how wonderful the lyrics of this song are!

I tried it :P lets see
Right. Compare my longer posts to my gif jokes. The gif jokes get one extra vote... but it a good sized vote. That vote comes from a guy who got discouraged and decided a long time ago that people were not reading his longer bits (even though he got trending on many of them,) so he began writing and rewarding short humor.
It is the rough truth here: everyone wants to be a producer, but there isn't much to gain being the consumer.
I read most of @por500bolos posts. He (I assume he is a he) is my kind of strange living in a strange environment. I read and watch a few other posters too. Maybe that is rare. I don't know.
I think the solution is in segments with allocated curation quotas but that is impossible in decentraland.
As i said i am not against short post, i do them form time to time, i am not for long posts, sometimes i am not in the mood, sometimes i want to repost an old post becuase i like it back in mi feed for new followers (I dont get many new followers lately)
The problem is not hardcore bloggers bitching is that normies evaluate the cost/benefit relation and then everything goes towards consumer oriented content because it is what pays.
@por500bolos and I have a long running joke about the subjetivity of quality.
And the quality of humanity...
