Some Thoughts

on Congressional Hearings
............................................................................................................................................................

  • Many (but not all) Congresspersons are not that bright. I remember sitting in the committee hearing listening to the questions they were asking me and the other folks testifying and thinking, "how did these folks get here?" I decided the only common denominator had to be pure will. Because they were not all smart, not all charismatic -- not even as a group particularly impressive. Anyway, whether bright or not, most do not really understand technology and related issues.

Sort:

Derp face.

Those are the characteristics that are required to be a politician, not knowing anything about any topic but it is important to annoy everyone's life and then seek publicity in the media. That is not studied, that is configured in the genetics of these characters, look at their faces: they are unique.

Electing theses idiots and then giving them powers to govern us and to make up endless silly laws which do not apply to themselves. We are so stupid that we repeat the process every few years.

Voting is a game we are allowed to play, you could vote for Micky Mouse and still get more of the same. if voting changed anything it would be illegal. If one must vote- VOTE “NONE OF THE ABOVE”

I think you have a good point.

We are all knowledgeable and we are all ignorant. It just depends on the subject. I watched the testimony of Mark Zuckerberg yesterday and watched the lawyers/congressmen/congresswomen struggle to ask the questions. The really funny part was watching them try to understand his answers. Reminds me of the look on the second image down.

The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard a politician say though:

This was the funniest thing I ever heard! I still crack up when I hear it. Sounds like he has the mind of a 4 year old. No offense to any 4 year old intended.

Well, we are all knowledgeable and we are all ignorant. It just depends on the subject. Apparently he is not an expert on islands and may be a bit short on common sense as well.

I didn't know there were experts on island out there. Not being an expert on islands, nor attending island university myself, I still don't see how one could confuse an island for a boat.

Knowledge has limits. Ignorance does not.

Don't flower it up, tell us what you really think : )

that admiral should be given a medal for the self restraint he exercised.

Idiots like this almost surely came up through the public school system.

These pictures really express your point!

a picture is worth a thousand word?

Ban all multisyllable word pictures!

Yeah. Ban all movies. But also all pictures if the picture is worth a thousand words and more than ten of those words are multisyllable.

no one needs a high capacity coloring book.

I have to go have a tooth pulled in an hour. All of my comments today will thus be tongue in cheek.
