in #dirttrack7 years ago (edited)

Like all life stories start here she is naked and cold . By the way we named her Cheryl after Cheryl Tunt on Archer. Anyways on with the build. FB_IMG_1510893237832.jpg
Firts order of businees was a shiny gloss black paintjob

Then the fun started. Assembly. It starts with the drivers compartment and steering stuff and a shiny red fuel tank.

Then it was on to what the people love. The motor. In this class ( B modified ) are allowed 360 cubic inches snd have to run a 2 barrel. 7200 rpm rev limiter, through a direct drive transmission into 6.50 rear ring and pinion gear. So to make the most out of what we are allowed we went straight to pro systems carbs for thier very best 500 cfm guage legal 2 barrel carburetor they offer and decided the best fuel option was E-85 because it makes the best power, runs cooler, has less fuel burn off ( which is a huge factor to dirt racers) and is $8 a gallon cheaper than race gas even though it is the same 110 octane rating basicly.

Looks nice. The frame rails are they from a stock car?

The rules give a couple options of possible front stubs. We went with a 68-72 Chevelle. It is the most prevalant. Some people chose a diffrent option the call mertrics which would be a g body like a monte carlo. Other folks do a ford turino front stub. Ither than the front subframe everything else is round tubing .

Ok I thought it was a complete rube frame.

i wish. they hold the modified class to a pretty strict set of rules on front suspension. if it were a late model we could have a complete tube frame car and any control arm and spring setup we wanted. we cant run coil overs or anything on the front. it has to stay old style suspension.

And how the hell did this post earn a meager 0? This was excellent! I'm a mechanical engineering student in Nigeria, and somehow, i should know a bit about this, at least to a comfortable extent, but i'm not sure i know quite enough. all we do is theory and hours of pointless math. lol

to put it simply? I had no steem power and no followers. It is a shame that it is that way so that is why i have decided to change that and joined up with @newbieresteemday and will be delegating more and more to them so that new people don't have to go through what i did. I poured my heart into a lot of early posts to literally make $0.00 . I feel that that is unacceptable.

It is unacceptable! I've had my moments of depression too, when i was very much new on here. I wrote my heart out and got practically nothing. Today, those posts would probably earn well over $20. I appreciate what y'all doin' with the @newbieresteemday. I've already hopped into the discord server. (I think). And i will give in support in the coming days.

Better days ahead!

Yep. I feel ya. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I am following you now so i will help out where i can.

I can sight a Lathe, a drilling machine and some cutting disks hung on the wall in the first photo. :D

yep, my in laws own a machine shop. that is their retired machines that they brought home. there is a bridgeport just to the left of theat picture. the grandfather started the business back in the 30's

Cool. I've had some experience with the Lathe during a short internship in high school. I attended a technical school back then

they are really cool to work on but don't ever wear loose clothes, they will suck you right in

Yup! you got it. and bangles, watches or bracelets. Keep your station clear so you don't trip and fall. blah blah blah... I loved it
