Slow Cooked Lamb

Dinner

Tonights dinner was in some regards a fairly simple affair, it did however require lengthy cooking time. In the vicinity of five hours. After that amount of time cooking everything is very soft and tender. The meat is fall apart quality and doesn't really require any chewing.

Given that you don't go to the effort of five hours of cooking for one small dinner, we now have lots of ready to heat and eat meals. So much for making room for the Christmas food in the freezer, maybe there won't be much Christmas food left overs.

It is, worth the cooking time.

Looks yummy.... Really

It was, and will be again with the leftovers.

I will have to try this meal tonight IoIz

You should, it does do well when cooked for a long time.

Slow cooked stews arw the best. Fall apart meat and such good mixing of flavours. Nice photo too!

Thanks, slow cooked is usually very good.

Yum. My dinner tonight was a Christmas dinner of leg ham and turkey with roast veggies at my Mum's choir performance & dinner. Pretty tasty, but I did have around 2 serves worth since it was held in a retirement village and so I was about 25 years younger than the majority of the audience (or more!)

Christmas dinner of ham and turkey sounds good, probably won't in about a week and a half when I'm looking at it for a third night in a row.

Oh I love it and leftovers are great too. But there'll be 11 of us at least a few of the meals, and minimum of 5 for others, so it won't last that long anyway.

Sounds like a good gathering and that they will be hungry.
