Bannon leaving is a strategic move by Trump and Bannon. They are still alies. Bannon's hands were tied due to the underlying political forces while he was in President Trump's employ. On the outside, Bannon can take the gloves off. This is what was needed.
As for Pence, I like him okay, but I don't trust him. He couldn't win the presidency himself, but would be all too happy to step into the role if Trump were ousted and probably would not feel bad about it one bit. I'd consider voting for him in 2024, but not before.
