DAY 4 OF THE 10-DAY SUGAR DETOX

Day 4, I woke up feeling extraordinarily well. I know I’m not there yet in breaking this addictiveness to sugar, but I also know that I am well on my way. I had the same breakfast smoothie, and for lunch, the same fresh lettuce chicken sandwich with Dijon mustard, tomatoes and eggs (NO bread keep in mind). For dinner I had that delicious meatball dish from Dr. Hyman’s recipes, along with fresh string beans. Oh my goodness those string beans tasted absolutely divine! Of course the snacks all today were of a variety of nuts that Dr. Hyman says we are able to have. I have also been doing quite well with the supplements he has recommended on a daily.

             

             

Dr. Hyman has referred to a term called Epigenetics. Feel free to look up the definition of this word “epigenetics” (for those who are on their own search to their health). The word epigenetics refers to the fact that we can not modify our genetic code. But Dr. Hyman explains (as more now are coming to find) that we CAN change how our genes function, discovering which ones are activated or silenced by what we eat! I can’t express how much can be found in Dr. Hyman’s book to bring a better perspective on what we thought we knew regarding health. Dr. Hyman urges us to have an understanding of switching to real food, which can only optimize our nutrient status. He further shares the analogy of our life being as a book, and that our body is consistently reading instructions from the healthy chapters, and not the sick ones. I have come to find, time and again through my personal studies, that our own decisions could have a greater influence on our health outcome then our parents genetic disposition.

Well done... everybody should detox from sugar. True poison that's hidden in so many foods and drinks.
