Erebia medusa (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775)
Der Rundaugen-Mohrenfalter ist ein Tagfalter aus der Familie der Edelfalter (Nymphalidae). Er ist mit Abstand der erste Mohrenfalter im Jahr. Seine Flugzeit beginnt Mitte Mai und endet Ende Juni. Man findet ihn bevorzugt an Waldrändern und auf Lichtungen oder Waldwegen. Gerne besucht er angrenzende Blüten-Wiesen um dort Nektar zu saugen. Dieser Schmetterling ist in Deutschland nicht häufig und sein Bestand gilt derzeit als bedroht.

Wirklich wie gemalt!!!
Wenn das Licht passt, dann gelingt Bilder wie diese. Manchmal hat man Glück, unter Falter öffnet sogar die Flügel. So eine Aufnahme ist mir allerdings schon lange nicht mehr gelungen. Aber wer weiß was die kommenden Tage bringen, ich werde ihm sicher noch das ein oder andere Mal begegnen.

Eine Frage hätte ich: Was ist damit gemeint "seine Flugzeit endet Ende Juni"? Stirbt er dann?
