There's Always Another Way

I was debating a friend today about a dream they had.

Everyone dreams about what their life could be like. Many people will set out to see whether their dream is even possible.

Sure, it's possible, they may say. But only once I have X Y and Z.

Something that I've come to realize is that many people are reliant on external circumstances.

They rely to heavily on this happening in order for them to be "able" to do that.

For example, my friend has a dream about riding horses on a farm. She has no car and no job and is just a regular student.

And so, she deemed it impossible for her to have her dream of riding a horse on a farm and enjoying life in that way.

She thought that it would only be possible once she got a job and got a car and was able to drive to the far away farms and pay for usage of a horse.

I questioned this line of thinking.

Why can't you find another way, I asked.

There is no other way, I've done the research. She replied.

And so, we see that this issue is of a limited mindset. The issue is not that she needs X and Y to make her dream possible, the issue is that she can't see the hundreds of other options for riding a horse on a farm.

Following this logic, I set out to try and expand her mind by listing off different potential scenarios and ways for her to achieve her dreams:

1. Why not volunteer on a horse farm? Work for free and ride horses in exchange for your time.
2. Join a club that rides horses
3. Find a small group of individuals with the same interest and carpool with them to a farm where you can all volunteer/ride
4. Get a job on a horse ranch --> you may or may not get to ride a horse at first, but you sure as shit will be 1 step closer to doing that!

As you can see, there are many paths that lead to the end goal. Once you open your mind and tell yourself that it's not only possible but that you are 100% in charge of your life and capable of doing anything, you open your mind to a whole realm of possibilities and routes to what you want to achieve in life.

Don't limit yourself. Don't fail before you even begin. Choose to have an open mind and choose your own reality.
