How to develop drinking water habit

In my last note, I wrote about 9 reasons why drinking lots of water. This article is a continuation and talk about how to start drinking water, how to develop drinking habits a lot of water.

Here are some tips that helped me:

How much water?

This is a controversial issue. One thing is clear: the old recommendation of "8 glasses per day" is unsuitable for several reasons: this amount includes all the liquids consumed - food and water that do not consist of water. In addition, a person's weight is not taken into account, although this is an important factor for calculating the amount of water.

Also, the amount of water consumed varies, if you are sick or exercising. It is not appropriate to drink only when you feel thirsty - when you are already dehydrated. It is best to do the regimen: drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up, glass with every meal, a glass of food, and be sure to drink before, during and after your workout. Try to drink so much that you do not feel thirsty.

Bring a bottle with you

For many people it is useful to carry large plastic bottles with water everywhere. I like to keep a glass of water on the table, I drink from it all day. When the water in the glass ended, I refilled it and continued to drink.

Set reminder

Set the clock so that they are marked at the beginning of each hour, or set up regular reminders on the computer. So you will not forget to drink water.

Replace drinks with water

In cases where you usually drink soda or alcohol, replace the drink with a glass of water. At public events try drinking mineral water instead of alcohol.

Filter

Instead of spending a lot of money on bottled water, spend it on a water filter. The water from the tap will feel like a bottle, and it will cost you quite cheaply.

Training

Exercise can help you more want to drink. If you do not exercise for more than an hour, you do not need to drink Gatorade sports drinks. Drink only water. If you are going to practice, be sure to drink some water beforehand, so the water passes through the body system at the time, and drink during and after class.

Track
It usually helps shape new habits - you'll more easily control yourself and make sure you're on the right track. Get a small magazine (can be made in the form of a card or a notebook), and check each glass of water.
