Ponte City - the building leading to hell

Ponte City is a 173m high building with 54 floors and is a symbol of the city of Johannesburg - South Africa's largest city. With a hollow tube structure that does not see the bottom, it is hallucinating that the Ponte building is the path to hell.

This is also the favorite place of many explorers do not want to down the stairs but by cable.

British architect and photographer Dimitar Karanikolov captures these impressive images with his trusty Leica Q camera at the Ponte City Tower in Johannesburg.

"The Ponte Tower is perhaps the best and most intriguing architecture I've ever seen.

The 55-story tower in Johannesburg is the tallest residential building in Africa and is used as a location for filming 'District 9', 'Chappie' and 'Resident Evil'. By the 1990s, many gangs moved into the building and it became extremely unsafe. Ponte City is a symbol of crime and urban fragmentation. The core is filled with fourteen-storey debris as owners leave the building. There are even suggestions to turn the building into a high-rise prison! A place with a dark past but a bright future.
