thank you on all counts :-)! yes I've forgotten to sign the majority of my pieces over the years, it's really foolish. Usually it's because towards the end of a project there is a kind of momentum and often an urgency to ship the piece that is related to a deadline and/or needing to be paid so I forget all non-essentials. Perhaps a signature is an essential though!
