How should we respond to depression, avolition, anhedonia, and apathy?

How should we respond to depression, avolition, anhedonia, and apathy? I suggest doing a few things to determine and address the fundamental causes and origins of these feelings and symptoms.
First, I would suggest using an herbal anti-depressant, such as St. Johns wort and Ashwaganda. This will help, but it is not a complete long term solution.
Combine herbal therapy with other therapies, practice doing mindfulness meditations and bring into conscious awareness the things and problems that cause the apathy, anhedonia, depression, avolition. Practice doing Dialectical Behavior Therapy Workbooks, this includes acceptance and mindfulness exercises.
Study existential psychotherapy and philosophy to really examine the issues of your existential crisis.

Here are some resources to learn more about these solutions:

I would suggest shiatsu and traditional Chinese medicine.

Can you explain what Shiatsu and TCM is and how they help with these issues?
Also what are some good ways to learn more and get started with these systems?

TCM has been curing patients for several thousands of years, so it is difficult to sumarize it ! it based on a perception of human body and mind quite different of occidental medicine. We are not different parts assembled together, we are a whole connected with the universe.

Shiatsu is a practice derived from TMC where the practitioner is using his thumbs instead of needles. You cannot learn Shiatsu online, you have to look for a teacher .
Dc Maciocia, who is located in US, has written a book about mental illnesses and TCM :
