Day 17 - 100 days of value challenge!

OK, so I have a couple of days left in the "10 days about interesting people" section (or maybe I'll do more later, who knows, I'll see as I go) and I initially had a list I followed strictly but wanting to change it up a bit (even though John Martin was always on the list. Mainly because I see that there are a lot of similar reasons for the ones I have on the list for now. They either fight a lot for others around them, are caring and/or impresses me with their giving personalities.

So to change it up, let's go a bit techy. I've had kind of a talent for IT since I started at uni having some experience with building servers for games as a kid (yeah, world of warcraft got me good), but I've definitely had some challenges both during the studies and during work with other projects and of course @deegramofficial

One guys that has helped me a lot on all these areas is John Martin. He's a super skilled, hard working software developer who not only knows what he does but also gladly help others understand and become better.

At first it felt like a defeat to me to admit to him at my second year in uni that: "Hey you know that algorithm/data structure class? Well, I'm fucked. Could you teach me graphs?", but seeing the joy on his face as he helped me out and spent his lunch on me was so great. I mean, he could have just said no and proceeded to ace the exams and not give a fuck. But he cared.

So he's kind of become my "go to guy" for complex problems and he always seems to have some good thoughts and ideas on how to solve them. Often I need some explanation as I'm not that big on backend/server-side programming but he helps me grow!

I'm happy to have studied with you, and happy to be able to continue to work with you from time to time. People like you are great, and I like to say that I try to follow your example when I can!

Life pro tip: Be humble enough to ask for help when you need it, and those who care will give it. There's always someone out there that would feel better knowing that they helped you out, as long as you're grateful and promise me to help someone else out when you have the chance 😊

Much love ❤️ 100 days of value challenge - Day 17: A great mind that has taught me a lot
