A day at the antique market

I was going to write a certain article regarding steemit.

Though am missing a few details, and you know the devil is in them, so will hold back for a day or two!. So it was fairly nice out today, and we decided to take a trip in to town to look at the items on offer at the once a month market, that is the last Sunday of every month except July, as July we entertain high wire walkers and street artists from all over the world.

The young dude in the first photo was playing nothing else matters by Metallica, and very good he was at it also.

On sale today were 1000's of items from ww2 to art through to pots pans and even motorbikes, cycles and mopeds, and just about everything in between. As usual I bought a load of stuff I will never use and will stuff in a cupboard for "one day" that never arrives. :-) You could even buy minx scarves from back in the 1930's

Anybody like to do a bit with yarn?

Maybe a nice selection of used bayonets from world wars?

Nothing take your fancy yet?

You are a fussy bugger then are you not! I will tell you what I bought, one thing was a in the case still, 1980's Panasonic vhs camera, that was used by a local professional small film company, and at 10 quid (£) $13 US, or 50 zloty I am well happy with it, it even has 2 batteries, and 1 basf pro film inside the case, it was though like carrying a dead dwarf around in a suit case. I also bought some classic prints of a now defunct national airline company called LOT, that went down like the Titanic along with communism here.

I also bought a Russian ww2 army hat, 2 field radios from ww2, a Nazi helmet badge, a solid brass 1940's black minstrel money box and 3 lots of Russian wooden doll inside a doll inside a doll things for my daughter.

On with the slide show you mumble.

Inconvenient reminder regards history.

And that would be the photo below, regardless of what the history books say, laid in stone on the ground is a reminder that the Jewish community here were allowed to roam free, though had boundaries, as in the one below, but hey, so did everyone else in an occupied country.

I know shut up and more photos, got it!

As per usual we had lunch in the Irish bar above. Children eat for free on a Sunday also, nice touch that. I had fish chips and mushy peas, not sure if other countries have mushy peas? let me know.

Anyone attending the Krakow steemfest is in for the same sort of architecture.

And of course the cheap food and beer, if abh12345 reads this, I suggest you check the blues bar out in the old town - square in Krakow, it has a market in the middle, the blues bar is underground, and has some of the best live talent for miles, plus cheap beer and waitress service (enjoy) shhh I never told you.

I have spent many a good week in Krakow, & it is friendly - though try to avoid going in bars with large groups of men, as in your group, the British stag nights have made many a bar owner wary, and likely to refuse large groups of men entry.

Verdict = Top day out in the sunshine, though a little cold at times.

Sort:

Some very nice architecture there. 1785 for the building in the last picture if I read the number right, I bet it has been renovated a few times. I like the wall of the irish pub, the blue and white patterning was pretty nice, all the little inset bits were different.

The white building behind smoking man on the hill looks pretty impressive is it a government building, or a museum? The other thing I thought was pretty neat was the cobblestone layouts, arc's on arc's I could not really distinguish an overall pattern but in little views it looks pretty cool.

Speaking of cool, I guess fall is coming there also, lots of coats, looks like it was a pretty nice outing.

It is the local castle, with a museum inside.

You should see the inside of the Irish bar, my phone camera does not do it justice though.
