The ability to listen is crucial!
Everybody wants to be heard and we all want to be acknowledged for what we think and say, this is all part of being human. We also need to realize that there are people out there who know things that interest and affect us, and we need to listen to them. Learning doesn’t have to be difficult or boring, it can be a truly exciting thing.
Everybody in this world that we meet will know something that we don’t, this is a guaranteed certainty. The sheer amount of knowledge that those around you possess is actually quite overwhelming if you think about it, and this is why we need to let their wisdom and information flow if they care to share. There is a time to talk and a time to listen, so be aware of what your surroundings hold in store for you.
Get out there and listen to others, not only will they appreciate your attention, but you will take away some new found insight every single time. When we are immersed in varying viewpoints, opinions and ideas, we can formulate and create new unique solutions and bring forth things we may not have previously thought of.

Listening skills are taught at such a young age for a reason...no better skill to have IMO.
