As for scams, if it smells of a scam it is a scam! These big consortium of doctors and legal entities attached to them give me the screaming shits over in our country as well, the bigger they are the quicker the send letters of demand. Go get em!
Other than that may 2019 be a brilliant year for you and your family.
It isn't that much money, less than $200, but the thing that made it fishy was none of the paper work he had from that emergency clinic had that doctor group listed and he never received a bill in the mail from that group or even the collection agency that was "trying" to collect. The first communication in the whole thing is this "friendly reminder" letter from an attorney. That just didn't seem right to me and it appears I was correct with my gut instinct.
