Session 28 - August 1st
Today's session is basically a photocopy of the July 24th. A long ride of almost 30 kilometers, characterized by a long climb where you can discretely train the resistance to continued efforts.
I can make a clear comparison and from this comparison I can say that I'm learning to manage the energies. The last time I did not know the path and the slopes not so excessive at the beginning of the climb were misleading. Basically I pushed more than I should have and I found myself overly tired already halfway through the planned training. Getting to the top was not a joke!
That's why today I tried to tackle it with less confidence, holding in my pocket energies that I knew then would need a lot. In doing so I took exactly the same time to complete the session (the 4 minutes more you see depend on a small final deviation) but in the end I did not suffer much, not like the last time. Going to see the data of the heart rate monitor this fact is even more evident: July 24, the average heart rate was 160 beats per minute, today was instead of 154. Very interesting! Of course there could be another thousand factors that explain (or that concur to explain) this difference, but I think the management of effort is the most important.
One last news is about a new challenge that I would like to carry forward in August (of those challenges that are pre-packaged for Strava users: 8000 meters in altitude to be overcome! I do not know if it will be possible, we will see!
Below the report of the day and some photos taken with the smartphone.
