Cycling California, morning foothills ride
My last ride was on Monday earlier this week as work got in the way of my typical Tue/Wed midweek ride. This morning was a nice 67*f and heating up to the mid 80's a few hours in.
I past a condo complex with a nice water garden in Saratoga.
The ride was 40 miles and 2500 feet of climbing.
GPS uploaded to Strava (Manually this time as Garmin Connect did not sync with the Strava site for some reason)
Taking a break at Stevens Creek reservoir.
You can see that the reservoir is about 20 feet lower than the max level. People were out there paddle boarding and kayaking.
On the road next to the reservoir, there is this memorial where 2 cyclists were hit and killed in 2008 by a Santa Clara County Sheriff. (Believe it or not) The Sheriff apparently fell asleep at the wheel and crashed head on into 3 cyclists killing 2 of them.
Nice and impressive ride. Good work. Pics are very beautiful.
@glennolua,water garden in Saratoga and the lakes is wonderful. Anybody would love to visit these places. Thank you for share with us.
40 miles is pretty impressive.
I didn't go cycling for a long time, but I would give up after like 10 miles.
Eventhough I live in an area that has lots of hills so it wears you down.
By the way, that landscape is beautiful.
I'd love to ride there in stead of cycling through plain streets.
Once you condition yourself, you could cycle 40 miles pretty easily. Especially if you are young...
I try to stay away from cars, so it's the back streets and the foothills.
Thanks for visiting, I just layed around after this ride. Not much energy for anything else!
