Well, you know... It's all pretty on the coast, and even inland. So it's really hard to sa where it's the most beautiful. Avenue of the Giants was mind-blowing. The Mendecino coast is just gorgeous. And even the Santa Ynes Route along Lake Cachuma, before Santa Barbara is beautiful in its own dry way. Of course Big Sur has mountains, forests, and coast, but even in that regard it's by far not the only place like that. So yes, there may be some exaggeration to it. Except for... I never got to see the loveliest spots behind the fences of the rich yuppie-hippie retreats. So I could still be wrong.
