The Daily Sneak 23 November 2018 - with guest curator @paradigmprospect

in #curation6 years ago

Welcome to The Daily Sneak!!!

We reward quality content, AND content curators! Come for the crypto, stay for the community!

You can earn up to 5 SBD per accepted submission for guest curating The Daily Sneak. Submission requirements are published at the bottom of each edition of The Daily Sneak.

Today's guest curator is @paradigmprospect.

Human beings continue to inspire me. Just when we think there is no escape from established ways of doing things, some people out there show us that it CAN be done and how they did it. Unconventional methods, choices and wisdom can often shine a light on our own fears and help us overcome our doubts, which are often the only thing in the way of our vision becoming a reality.

In the spirit of seeding some powerful inspirations and perspectives with you all today, it is @paradigmprospect's pleasure to showcase the work of these 5 Steemians who are doing their part to empower and motivate us so that we may start trusting our own vision and discernment more, and eventually dare to make the jump ourselves into the future we hope to create.

The Sneaked Selections

Watermelon, virtuous fruit

The topic comes up every summer on the festival circuit in the burning heat; someone cuts open a watermelon for everyone to share and the topic starts: "Aren't these supposed to be really good for the body in all sorts of ways? Does anybody actually know why this fruit is so special?" Well, everyone in the camp certainly feels that way and agrees but no one ever has the list of watermelon benefits with them... and before I know it it's winter and I forgot to look it up.

Thankfully, @miye47 has shared a comprehensive list of the benefits that watermelon can bring to your body - which will be my cheat-sheet for the next summer season and a great motivator to indulge more often. Thanks dude!

🖤 My solo-adventure in Portugal - Part 1: Norway-Algarve-Lisbon!

While I try not to force my own passions onto other people, I do find I write way too seldomly about the psy tribe that I care so much about. When I do stumble upon some of them (even though we have never met "in person"), I recognize them instantly.

Apart from the passion for psychedelic music, this captivating travel post by @umulius is a godsend to people on the fence about making a jump into the unknown, even just to dare to travel. Is it dangerous? Will I be alright? What can I expect to learn?

If you want to hear from someone who just dared this jump herself, look no further. @umulius' Portugal travel series has just started and includes encouraging advice and gorgeous impressions of her trip through the country. Mightily inspiring!

FREE money, and I am a fricking trillionaire!

Today I - like many others - woke up to find the estimated worth of my SP to be hilariously high, presumably due to some technical issue in the Steem blockchain. I drew a somewhat hilarious conclusion because these developments often carry a quality that could be described as a "cosmic giggle" - fueling our imagination for where this whole space might be headed in the next decades.

But it also reminds us that money isn't everything and that it's a lot more useful to remind ourselves what we already have that DOES COUNT for something, like children. Where many people seem to want more money to buy even more useless things than they already have, there are some people who remain grounded and get to a point where money flows their way, and yet they decide not to force anything and instead put it on hold until an opportunity presents itself.

An inspiring little story by @shepz1 that is a great permission slip to really think about what is important to us in life.

Why The Crypto & Bitcoin Price Market Crashed - Top 10 Reasons

For the longest time I have been meaning to feature the work of the amazing "Crypto Lark," mainly because I find his recurring show highly informative and because his charming delivery often includes bits and pieces of information that most commentators out there seem to disregard, either to score points or because they lack the background information. Information like the criminal intricacies of the debt-based fiat monetary system, or the negative sides of popularly over-hyped blockchain projects, to name but a few.

To top it off the guy has a radiating sense of humor and never takes himself too seriously. This video is less of a humorist exposé, compared to some of his past gems, but it is one of the best summaries of potential reasons why the crypto market finds itself in such a slump currently. If you are still scratching your head, this video may give you some great ideas to follow up on.

Head over to @larksongbird to always stay up to date with his work. Your dedication and grounding are priceless in this - often times - overemotional market, dude, thank you for all you do!

🌈 Flowers & Hand Dyed Textiles available for SBD on Homesteaders Co-op 🎁

Many people in the crypto and blockchain-space are dedicated to help create a better world, using cutting edge technologies of decentralization. At the same time many of us feel the weight of the current socioeconomic system weigh heavily on our vision. Adoption-wise, fiat is still miles ahead of crypto and it may take some time until a shift becomes visible where we can rely less on central bankers' phony money and more on the crypto assets we hold dear.

Naturally I try to keep an eye out for well-intentioned companies that are doing their best to bridge the gap between both worlds, and the work and offers of @sagescrub are a prime example for that.

Not only can you get high quality abundance seeds, dyed textiles and even dried flowers from them, but you can pay directly in SBD - effectively bypassing the old economic structure entirely. It is businesses and initiatives like this that will really make a difference in the long run, so if you want to spice up your garden, wardrobe or living room and you have some SBD laying around, come check out what they have to offer and be part of the transition to a saner and self-determined society.

I salute you for your pioneering role; it will send a strong signal to those businesses who don't quite dare to make the transition yet. Somebody has to make the first move and it might as well be homesteaders with their heart in the right place <3

Conclusion

I always appreciate the extensive and detailed commentary from @paradigmprospect. Great commentary and selections, as usual! For submitting these excellent articles and commentary, @paradigmprospect earns 5 SBD.

Each of these highlighted articles receives full upvotes and resteems from @thedailysneak. In addition, @thedailysneak sponsors featured writers for Steem Basic Income!

Submission Requirements

On to the submission requirements for The Daily Sneak:

  1. You can choose from 2 to 5 articles for your entry. Submissions with only one selected article will be ignored.
  2. All articles chosen for curation need to have been published within the last 5 days before your entry. It may take time for me to publish your curation, and curated articles need to be within the reward window when your submission is published.
  3. You cannot submit your own post for curation. Selections from nsfw will not be accepted. We also check for plagiarism and only highlight original content.
  4. Selected posts should have less than $50 in total rewards and have not previously been curated by The Daily Sneak.
  5. We try to spread the love around, so while selections from authors that have been highlighted before are welcome, they might not be included if the author's last inclusion was recent. Similarly, if you include two articles from the same author in one submission, we will typically highlight only one of the two.
  6. Be sure to include your personal bio for me to introduce you to readers, and make sure that each selection has commentary. This can be just a few sentences about why you think the selection is worth our attention, or what is great about it - something that will make people want to click through the headline and check out the actual article. English is preferred, but other languages will be considered as long as English translation is included.
  7. Please use this web form to submit your entry. https://goo.gl/forms/VH2MGIMEgqZmd9ef1
  8. Including image links to the source article is not required (and we prefer to leave some mystery if photography is highlighted and the article has only one photo.) However, we like to include images in The Daily Sneak, and not including any image links may decrease the likelihood of your submissions being published.

If you include more than 2 articles in your submission and not all are approved for publication, your submission may still be published into an edition of The Daily Sneak, as long as at least 2 articles are approved. This could happen for several different reasons. If you are unsure why an article was cut, please review the submission guidelines again. If you are still unsure, feel free to ask politely why it was cut.

Submission Reward

A brief biography of each guest curator will be included in the edition that uses their submission. In addition, each guest curator will receive 1 SBD for each article from their submission that is highlighted in The Daily Sneak. That's up to 5 SBD for each accepted submission!

Right now @thedailysneak's upvote is not worth as much as we are paying for guest curation. Why do we pay so much for guest curation? We believe that quality curation is very important to Steem. Paying our curators well encourages them to spend more time reviewing content and picking out the best pieces!

Wow thanks good people, I had no idea about this and only just came across this post.
Thank you also for the sbi, you made me smile tonight, thank you kindly both. @paradigmprospect

Hey, thanks a lot for featuring my post @paradigmprospect :3

I know what you mean about instantly recognizing someone from the tribe.
Sometimes when I meet likeminded psy-people, I dont know if I have been on the same dancefloor as them. Or if we never met, but our similar experiences makes it feel that way. But I know that they are from the tribe at once, haha!

I also loved @sagescrub's post, I love to see that more and more people choose craft and make natural and sustainable stuff. And a very cool concept. Full support!

Lots of love!
