Opening 'The Steemit Brand Awards': Curating brand awareness
Some days ago I broke the barrier of 5,000 Steem Power and thought by myself:
It´s time to give something back to the community!
I decided to express my personal gratefulness through a curation project in order to promote other users - that´s how the idea for The Steemit Brand Awards has been born.

The Steemit Brand Awards
THE IDEA
The Steemit Brand Awards will promote blogs and bloggers that stand out for their uniqueness. The award will be given two times per month, on the first and fifteenth day respectively, starting on the 1st of February 2017.
THE CRITERIA
Blogs / bloggers will be rewarded according to recognition value - the individual character which makes them outstanding: their BRAND AWARENESS.
A blog´s recognition value is like the voice of a famous singer: unique. You need to be able to recognize it amoung all other voices (blogs) in the world, just listening to a few tones (reading a few words).
From a business point of view that value is your USP (Unique Selling Proposition). It´s the answer to the question: why should somebody read MY blog instead of ANOTHER blog? Ask yourself: What is it people would talk about if they talked about my blog?
The Steemit Brand Award will reward blogs which show a strong brand awareness, prefering relatively 'new users' (low rep / few followers) to encourage their growth within the steemit community.
THE REWARD
Every Steemit Brand Award carries a value of 100 Steem, given to a single blog / user - which means that I (@surfermarly) will pay out 200 Steem per month.
Examples to follow
Uniqueness is an elastic word. To give you an idea of the many faces this term can actually have, I will show you some of my favourite successful steemit blogs.
1 - HIGH RECOGNITION VALUE: @daxon
He surely is one of the coolest guys we have ever had on steemit. His animal pictures are outstanding and have a undoubted recognition value: surprising, unique and hilarious!
At the moment he is taking a steemit time-out (due to personal reason as he informed us). Hopefully he will come back soon and bring some new albums!

2 - LOVE FOR DETAILS: @gringalicious
Her posts are pure art. Her dedication to food, style and photography is appreciable in every single post. She is absolutely professional and has the talent to let things look like if they just happened accidentally.
Her food presentations are food stories. Every single post makes you hungry and willing to jump into it immediately. For a reason she is one of the most successful bloggers of the platform.

3 - STRONG CHARACTER: @stellabelle
'I'm not your definition of a freak, I'm my own special kind, which defies all pre-existing definitions.'
Stellabelle is steemit´s Chamaeleon. Her blog is powerful, colorful and inspiring. Her content is diverse but always hers. No matter how unexpected her statements may be, you will always recognize her signature.

4 - COOL INNOVATION: @macksby
He is our 'Mister modern poetry', the man 'who made poetry cool again'. Thanks to @macksby rhyming has become popular on steemit, and people learned that poems are a contemporary way of writing.
His posts are powerful, deep and absolutely authentic. No matter if he invites us to enter a cocktail bar in New York or a phantasy place he invented, it´s always a pleasure to follow him and his carefully selected words.

On the 1st of February 2017 the very first Steemit Brand Award will be given to a steemit blog / user. In the meantime there won´t be any official nominations to avoid 'vote buying', so your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
If you know blogs which could fit with the above described criteria and which you would like to promote, then I would be happiest to consider them. Just post your recommendation below - replying to this article.

Regarding the filter: I have already some favourites seen during the past weeks, but surely I am open to whatever crosses my way. or is recommended by the community. Uniqueness is rare, but we have a lot of pearls to discover out here!

You are completey right: there MUST be an alert function to inform users when they have been tagged somewhere. It would even encourage communication / traffic - in the end: create value.
Let´s copy the bosses here ( @dantheman and @ned ), maybe it can be considered in one of the next updates.. :-)
