Working TItle (MSP Creative Writing Curation)
Thursday nights I am working a second (temporary) job, so I am going to post my curation choices on Wednesdays (hopefully) and then do the upvotes on schedule. This will cut down on the amount of work that needs to be completed on Thursday-taking a little pressure off. At least that's the plan.
All these posts will be upvoted by the @msp-curation account, and my top choice will also be resteemed. So woot!
it becomes evident this tropical oasis is about as real as the scorching sun baking down on his weary body. For awhile he marvels in delight at this blessing of nature nestled within a barren landscape. It has a crystal clear lake and waterfall surrounded by lush trees with fruit and fragrant flowers.
The Desert Oasis by @creativesoul is a fun little freewrite that takes the genre up a level- I feel like it may be a bit of an allegory, specifically about the dream of success. Read it for yourself and determine if that is the case!
Being a sabre shark I had no choice but to go into the family business. I was never what you would call gentle to begin with, but I wasn’t dreaming of this life as a young shark swimming in the Depths of Waveka. The Morelli family was known for their thirst for blood and as a Morelli, I was expected to play the part.
Steem Monsters Fantasy Story Contest by @simgirl is a fantastic example of the creativity that is being inspired by Steem Monsters. I love the idea of the sharks being gangs, and her use of the language and tropes from that category.
'Interstellar travel isn't how people think it is. Its not like some peaceful scene out of Star Trek where the ships captain kicks back and sips earl grey while the stars placidly scroll across the viewport.'
Starswift by @steemydave is the introduction to a new scifi series that takes place in space on the ship of the same name. I love the descriptions of the planets they plan to explore, and the technology that it's taking to get there.
He was the boy's father and had to do right by him. His family wouldn't stop him this time. He was tired of their patience and unending prayers that never worked. He was tired of hope.
Life and Death by @chinyerevivian uses a combination of prose and poetry to explore the relationship between family and death in three inter-related stories. Each seemed to have just a slight nuance about how parents and children relate to one another.
Then a flash of silver light whipped before his eyes, blinding him for just a moment. In that moment she stabbed him in the middle of his back, pulling the blade up, slicing his skin and meat to the shoulder.
The End to a New Beginning Part 3 by @foxyspirit is a continuation of a longer story. It is absolutely worth reading all three posts- she is a master of imagery and sensuality. Check out her work and thank me later.
