Yes, that does happen sometimes. Curators often choose to follow a theme (or sometimes a theme emerges based on whatever mood the curator was in when making their selections).

Btw; I got your submissions. We like to see some commentary with the links to the articles. I would recommend using the long form instead, until you've had a couple of submissions accepted, so that you can see how your submissions transform at publication. Then if you want to develop a distinctive style with more centering, etc. (like @paradigmprospect does in his submissions) you can submit the markdown instead.
