I think showing the dollar value of a post is where the problem stems from. Seeing a post with $1 or more within x minutes of posting makes me want to like that post. People are greedy, bots prove this...

Not sure how that affects curation though. That is more an issue of post visibility. Just to discuss it though people have suggested what you are saying before. I think there is even a plugin for chrome that does that. Can't find it right now but someone else might remember what it is called.

My understanding is curators get paid for making a post popular. While we'd want to believe people read or spend a lot of time looking at a photo or whatever some persons might see a post getting traction and decide to like based on the time it was posted and the amt of likes it has so far. I dont need to view the post to vote for it. Just how well its likely to perform

True but that presents a problem if people want quality.
