Curie Weekly Update (26th Feb to 5th March 2017)
In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.
- For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in #curie on Steemit.chat.
- All curators on Steemit are cordially invited to submit posts to Curie at http://curiesteem.com. A finder's fee of 8 Steem is available for each upvoted post. Essentially, Curie enables any curator on Steemit to give a post you like a whales' upvote; and in return, you receive a whales' curation reward. All without investing a million dollars :)
- Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors. If you are a Streemian user, @curie is an available trail to follow.
- Curie continues its focus on supporting new authors. Semi-established authors are supported by Steem Guild.
- Remember to follow and interact with authors that you love going through The Daily Curie.
Important News - Changes incoming with Hardfork 17
Hardfork 17, scheduled for March 14th 2017, is the most significant update to the curation landscape in many ways. While there are a lot of changes to how Curie operates behind the scenes, we expect operations to continue as usual for curators.
- The finder's fees will remain unchanged for now, but will gradually reduce over the next several months.
- All votes will come from @curie. We shall be accepting Steem Power delegation donations directly to @curie.
- Since the payout period will now be 7 days, The Daily Curie will be bi-weekly and posted on Sundays and Wednesdays. We'll affectionately retain the name "The Daily Curie". All The Daily Curie posts will be payout declined post Hardfork 17.
On a different note, our latest guidelines once again allow submissions of photography posts.
Guidelines - 6th March 2017
- New and verified authors only, who have been persistent without much success. Brand new authors who have one or two posts without verification do not qualify. General guideline for "new author" would be 62 Reputation and under. The lower the Rep, the more likely they are to be voted. (Steem Guild will look out for posts by more established authors)
- Posts must be more than 150 minutes old, but less than 20 hours, with less than $0.40 pending payout.
- Authors must not have earned more than $10 from a single post in the last 24 hours.
- Only original content. Articles, art, poetry, videos, recipes, etc. that appear first on Steemit. Please make sure sources are linked properly and check for plagiarism before posting here.
- No Steemit-related, religious, introduceyourself or political posts.
- Maximum 5 submissions per day.
- English posts only.

Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 421 posts at an average of 60 posts per day. A total of 293 unique authors were rewarded. SBD 5,866 was generated at an average of SBD 13.90 per post.

Curators
The Top 12 Curator list will dynamically change every other week depending on performance. Anybody will be able to rise up the ranks with consistent, quality curation. Inconsistent, low quality curation will result in dropping out of Top 12 (or regular curation, if under-performance continues).
This week, we have upvoted 417 posts submitted by curators in http://curiesteem.com, with 3,336 STEEM paid out / pending payouts to curators.
At current operations, we require a minimum CS of 5 to be eligible for Top 12 and 1 to be eligible for 5 submissions/day. This is the last week with lower acceptable scores, from next week we'll have hard limits at 5 and 1 respectively. Curators with an exceptionally high Score over the month will receive a monthly bonus. Currently the bonus pool is 1,000 Steem/month.
