I can't begin to tell you what it means to wake up one morning and the story you posted the night before has blown up beyond all measure.
I'm such a fresh minnow, it took me 4 days to figure out how to find out who had gotten my post such exposure. When I found @curie, I went to discover what this account was, and I am thrilled that such a group exists.

Isn't it though? I mean, I've seen the posts on trending with their $400 rewards, but who how do you get there? What kind of following must you have to generate that kind of earning power? And then to find one of my posts on trending. Holy Hand Grenade Batman! LOL

Hi @curie team - great work and love what you do. You made such a massive difference to me on one of my earliest posts a few months ago and it's really motivating for newcomers to see the potential rewards that are out there for hard work to really pay off!
I've got a couple questions I was hoping you could clarify for me please:
I've read that curie won't take on posts that have any votes from bots already. Is this true? I'm part of the Minnow Support Project and automatically get some small votes through them, or upvote my new posts via the $upvote command in the #upvote channel on PALNet. Is this preventing any MSP members from being considered for curation?
Does the above only apply if you've used @randowhale/@booster and the like?
Does a user's reputation score and account value factor in to your decision to upvote, or is it Orly based on quality of content alone?
I'd love to know, as I'm sure many others do too, if we're inadvertently doing anything that is preventing our content from being considered.

There are certain guidelines curators have to follow when they consider proposing a post and you can read them on #curie channel at steemit.chat.
One of the guidelines is that maximum potential payout at the moment of submitting needs to be less than $1. That's why posts with randowhale vote are usually not eligible.
Also, reputation needs to be between 27 and 52, so the main focus is on the newest, promising authors.
Ok, makes sense. I'm bummed about the reputation thing. I've been told that reputation is essentially a vanity metric that plays no role in the inner-workings of Steemit (other than to increase others' reputations) and if someone does will early, they're going to be excluded from future curation by @curie as soon as they exceed 52.
I'm sure there are good reasons for this, but it feels like if you're not a budding newcomer or established whale, you can find yourself in a position where most of your followers have very small upvote rewards, and you need to make use of every upvote bot out there to maximise on potential post rewards.
It's a tough transition indeed and it may take some time before your followers start bringing you more significant reward.
Curie on the other hand is relatively small project and these guidelines are necessary for it to continue its work.

No problem. Unfortunately, Curie can only give few initial votes on quality posts to encourage new users. After that it's up to followers and other diligent curators. :)
Oh this probably explains why none of my posts have been picked because I get more than 1$ upvotes within 30 minutes after I post and my reputation is currently 55 .I do get upvotes from curie though but not the "post shattering" ones hehe . Great initiative, good to see hardworking authors getting some recognition and being rewarded
