The majority of that power is held by a few people and organizations. In other words, the media is highly centralized and in need of change. MEDIA Protocol, a project I was unaware of before reading this overview, is creating a “new approach to the content distribution and consumption economics.” Similar to Steemit, content consumers are rewarded for interacting with content, and as an opensource platform, project creators are making MEDIA easy to access for developers in the hopes that their solution to the monopoly within media will create a decentralized and more democratic marketplace. -=-
