My first week with 100% post acceptance!

Last week, I was hot off of a dismal curation week and rearing to redeem myself. Each post I considered was scrupulously judged:

  • Is the author consistently under-rewarded?
  • Have they been curie'd ever?
  • Are their images clear, properly licensed, and appropriate for the article?
  • How creative, interesting, and well-crafted is this post?

And so much more.

These three authors that contributed to my perfect score truly made me look good... their posts are beautiful, their writing is consistent and unfortunately undervalued.

Very proud to bring you three stellar authors and their curated posts!

Camping Can Be Cool. Preparing for an Autumn 2018 Adventure in the NSW Wilderness.

by @nickmorphew

Nick went above and beyond in his latest post about outdoor adventuring! In preparation for a trip with his partner Hayley, Nick shared a variety options for wilderness excursions + camping locations in his home state and provided funny commentary throughout his explanation.

If you're a camper, a traveler, or someone who wants to learn from a master how to organize a weekend away, Nick's post is a must-read.

Enjoy a collection of maps, hilarious camping commentary, and a few Regular Show jokes in Nick's camping post.

Curator's note: Nick's post was personally interesting to me as a traveler and outdoor enthusiast. When it comes to curation, I find there's a balance between surfing tags and subject-matter that you personally enjoy and finding the gems within that pool. I've attempted to curate outside of my interests but I found little success. This is why there is a huge diversity of curators - each has their sphere of interest and focuses there. Don't get discouraged if your posts are in a subject-matter that doesn't seem to be curated often. Continue publishing quality articles and you will be noticed!

yoga

Yoga class - 30 min beginner/intermediate flow

by @yogalove

Yoga Love is new to Steemit but she's already captured an audience with her class video. Only her second post on the blockchain, this is her first video-based class and it was uploaded first to DTube.

Knowing how difficult it can be to work within DTube even as an experienced Steemian, I applaud Yoga Love for creating this class video and getting to know an upcoming decentralized app so early in the game!

As a yoga teacher, I can be picky when it comes to instruction, paying attention to the teacher's choice of poses, sequencing, music, leading style, and even the dialogue surrounding the class. My favorite classes are empowering, not overwhelming, rich with options and modifications, safe and strong in their sequencing, and direct in their diction.

Yoga Love's video has all of that and more. Check out her class and consider starting a yoga practice with her!

Curator's note: I don't often curate videos. I can rarely sit through anything that I'm not reading or actively participating in. However, when a video has very interesting subject matter [yoga, adventure sports, nature, a very entertaining person] I am looking for a holistic experience. By holistic, I mean that there is fitting background music, more-than-tolerable audio (which Yoga Love's photos just exceeded, as the hollowness of her space could be distracting), and clean edits, and a feeling of completion at the end of the video.

tofu

Homemade Tofu

by @deldreth

The secret is out... I love tofu! And Deldreth's recipe had me consider for a moment or two that I might make it myself! What I thought was a difficult process is explained simply and accessibly for any adventurous kitcheneer.

This post is full of passable photos at each stage of the process, which is something I look for in cooking and art-related posts. As a reader, I enjoyed not just the educational aspect of this article, but the visual development of tofu right before my eyes.

Whether you're a foodie, a DIY maven, or you simply appreciate great posts, check out this homemade tofu and enjoy!

Curator's note: As a photographer, I enjoy posts with more than one photo. Typically, I curate posts that have a plethora of photos that illustrate what the text is explaining. These photos don't have to be taken by you - they could come from Unsplash or another license-free image source. Above all, the photos must be clear, bright, and at the very least smartphone quality.

100% Acceptance Rating means more submission slots this week!

With great power comes great responsibility.

Cliches are such for a reason. With the opportunity to submit more posts doesn't mean the chance to slap in more submissions for a buck... it means more time spent hunting, searching, querying, reviewing, talking over potentials with friendly curators, and doing the work to uncover talented creators.

I am up for the challenge!

With fifteen slots available to me this week, I'm curating an hour each day, every day, with the hope of finding 2 - 5 submittable (and curie'able) articles each attempt.

So far? Only one each day the past couple days, with one acceptance by @malloryblythe and one seeming rejection by @pazrahn, whose article might have been rejected because he's been curie'd in the past for a similar article.

This may mean I have to amp up my hourage and hone my choices!

For those unfamiliar with @Curie curation guidelines, here's an abridged list, written by @alcibiades:

  1. Verified and engaged authors only who have been consistent without much success of late. Focus is on new authors who have made few good posts, but haven't been discovered yet. Curie is unlikely to vote for the same author more than once (especially in quick succession) or for the high REP author unless the post is truly exceptional.

  2. Posts must be more than 150 minutes old, but less than 24 hours, with maximum $10 pending payout.

  3. Only original content. Articles, art, poetry, videos, recipes, etc. that appear first on Steemit. (I.e. no reposts of older work) Content must be exceptional and unique.

  4. No Steemit-related, religious or political posts.

  5. Submission limits are dictated by curator's performance the previous week, according to established tiers.

  6. English posts only.

Congratulations!! That is wonderful (curation) news!

I'm still getting my feet wet in finding posts for curie. I have learned SO much from the curators in the last week.

Great job with the 100% and unlocking the 15 submissions! Just don't let up on your assessing of the posts. My first week with 15 I got a little sloppy because I went too risky knowing that I had more possible submissions. I finished 10/13 that week. Still really good, but 3 mistakes nonetheless. Just don't second guess yourself along the way.
I am also here any time you need one of those friendly curators.

I’m so proud of you! I just love how you don’t let a rough week derail you. If anything, you come back stronger because of it. Love watching your rise!

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 10 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 19 SBD worth and should receive 75 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
