RE: Confused about 5 votes? It actually makes sense!
I understand the theory behind the proposed fix, but does it account for users below the slider threshold not being able to vote more often because they can't reduce their voting power? And does it account for users not understanding the slider or simply not wanting to mess with it? It introduces more complexity for the user and limits the activity of enthusiastic new users who will now be limited in their activity from the start.
It doesn't appear to be "friendly" to new users at a time when attrition is already high.
This also incentivizes users to simply vote for their own content at full power. Would this not have a negative effect for curation in general? Vote big for yourself, vote small on everyone else, and hope that enough minnows stick around to vote early on your posts in order to draw attention to them before they disappear into Steemit's black hole.
You mean like this person, and all of the people commenting.. https://steemit.com/steemit/@karenmckersie/a-major-upgrade-to-steem-protocal-today-im-sooooo-confused
Yep, even whales seems to have issues with the functionality.
I'm a bit lost. Triede toupvote the main piece and yours @ats-david but no joy. Can you shed anymore light on the issue my friend?
