It's Coming Again--The Culture Vulture Challenge
August’s Culture Vulture Challenge is Coming.
And the only thing keeping you from participating is you.
No matter who you are or where you are, Culture Vulture is a challenge for you.
All you have to do is look around you and share the details of the culture you are living in. Is there a food that is eaten on specific occasions where you live, one that holds a specific meaning in relation to your location or culture? Is there a sacred place near you that is revered for reasons and purposes that would not be well known or easily understood to people visiting from outside the area? Are there any customs or rituals that are unique to your part of the world? What about arts and crafts, cooking utensils, tools, musical instruments, architectural styles or garden designs?

Take a look around you and share the minutiae of your culture by writing a post and labeling it with the tag #culturevulture. Make sure you compliment your post with some local or, preferably, original photographs.
All posts submitted under this tag will automatically be included in the August Culture Vulture Challenge, sponsored by @eroche, and will be eligible for either a grand prize of 30 SBD or one of a few honorable mentions, each worth 5 SBD.

I found a great description in the urban dictionary today for a Culture Vulture "culture-vultures feast on art wherever they find it", sums it up nicely.

Love the initiative! I think this series is much better than those travel posts (mine included... ><) as it can really conveys the innate power of cultures! I will try to support good posts from this series when I am still delegated some SPs, but you may need to remind me somehow as I cannot follow all my feeds.

I like that. Maybe you can use that as a slogan and have a culturevulture character or banner made up. That would be nice. People could add it to the end of their posts.
