Sri Lankan folk music mixed with different influences...

in #culture5 years ago

Good Evening eSteemians,

Welcome again with @esteem community. Today I'd like to share our cultural thing to you. Music is a universal language and is really accurate. As Sri Lankans, we have always lived with music. The earliest artists of ancient times were gamers. Folk music was used as a means of expressing the sadness, happiness, and pain of the past gamer. These were built with ease and with a simple language. This folk music consists of several major pieces. Of these, poetry, viridu, tambourine etc. are prominent. Though no musical instrument was widely used in the poem, the earliest gamer used to use the tambourine and the ordinary tambourine in the tune.

Today's Sri Lankan music evolved gradually with this folk music. From the past to the present a certain music has been used for the rituals performed in our country. Each of these rituals also features a variety of drums that we use.

Due to various attacks on our country, our music was mixed with a new breed of art, Baila. With the arrival of the Portuguese this art came into our country. The art is still alive in the country due to its taste. Nowadays, the art of baila is centered around Moratuwa. Later, with Indian influence on Sri Lankan music, Sri Lankan music took a new turn. We see that this Indian influence helped to make music more academic. All of this became a landmark in Eastern music, and Western music had its own characteristics. Today, with the addition of this western music to Sri Lankan music, Sri Lankan music has taken on a new look. Sri Lankan music which originated in folk music and gradually evolved in the future, will continue to change and add to it new and innovative things that will be entertained by all Sri Lankans.

Thanks for reading. Have agreat day.
